Greys Anatomy

Greys Anatomy

characters' review.
Shonda Rhymes' Grey's Anatomy is one of my favourite t.v shows of all times! I have all the ten seasons on DVD (the eleventh one being currently aired). By that you must have realised how much I absolutely love it! So I decided to do a review on the extensive number of amazing character that show has got. I'm pretty sure after reading it, you won't only be more familiar with them but your also going to to want to catch each and every episode they are featured on.
(Warning: might contain spoilers if you haven't seen all seasons)

Meredith Grey: (Ellen Pompeo)is one of the most main characters of the show. You must have realised the name of the show is same as her last name. It is definitely because the story starts from her point of view and gradually revolves around the people around her, as she gets to know them. Meredith's character is the one I mostly like (other times I am not so sure xD). She is very caring (I'll give her that), relatively competitive, strong and helpful. Her story starts when her father discovers about her mother's affair with her fellow medical resident ( Richard Webber; current chief of surgery)  and divorces her. Seeing as the Richard decided to stick with his wife and left  Ellis, their lives deteriorated by much extent. Ellis became broken and suicidal when Meredith was only a kid. Wiping her mother's blood from the kitchen floor after a failed suicide attempt, being told she was an unwanted child and constantly brought low by her mother's deflating comments were the memories Meredith grew up with and was still able to achieve her dreams.

Christina Yang: ( Sandra Oh) is one of the most influential personalities in the show. The one word I can say for her is "strong"! She is super competitive, strives to be the best, fully determined and caring when situation calls for it. She is also Meredith's best friend and  their friendship is unconditional. It's like a moving force that's so strong that one can't imagine how to break it up.
Christina is half Korean (her real father died when she was a young girl, in a car accident. That incident is shown to trigger her attraction towards her medical career.)
Even though she is called names like "robot" or "hard-core cardio God" she really touches ones heart when it comes to situations that really call for care. She is not some one who gushes at her patients or cries with them for their loss, but she is someone who holds the hand of a baby in surgery when she could be performing the procedure herself, just to comfort the patient who trusted her and needed her to do this. She is absolutely impossible to "NOT" like.
Christina and Meredith sit in Joe's bar.
Christina and Meredith lie in bed, comforting each other.

Christina and Meredith pose for a picture in baseball team uniforms.

Sandra Oh poses for a picture.

Like I said, there's an extensive list of characters. I will be doing only two in this post and will be continuing with the others in the next one.
See you all soon.
Happy Blogging!

Two fathers Taiwanese drama review

Two Fathers is a drama based on the normal but challenging lives of two families. The first one, consisting of Tang Xiang Xie (the Daddy), Wen Zhen Hua (the Pappi) and Tang Wendi (the little daughter), is Taiwan's most untraditional family one can ever set eyes upon. The two fathers are often mistaken as gays (that just adds to one of the many hilarious moments that pop up often throughout the drama), when they're only friends who had a shared past with Wendi's mother. After Wendi's birth her mother left her in the custody of the any one of them, whoever was ready to take her in. Unsure who was the real father both of them decide to raise the baby girl together, since none of the either was ready to give her up. Xian Xie being a successful attorney and Zhen Hua owning a popular flower shop, were luckily able to provide more than enough for their daughter. Now Wendi becomes eight years old and the story begins.

The second one, the Fang Family; consisting of Fang Jing Zhu (second oldest daughter) Fang Fie Zhu (the oldest son), Fang Qui Zhu (the youngest son), Papa Fang and Mama Fang. Being a normal yet unique family, the Fangs have a place of their own in the story.

The story follows the everyday life and problems of the two families, exhibiting love, kindness, friendship and strong relations that are not made by blood but affection.

Character reviews:

Tang Wendi (played by Le Le) : Having two loving fathers, Wendi feels there is no need for her to have a mother, but secretly she wishes for her mother return to her. Being only eight years old, she is also a little mature than her age. When her Daddy tells her that her mother is the brightest star in the sky, she explains to her teacher that she knew her Daddy was only saying it to make her happy.
Wendi: "how can anyone's mother be a star?"
Her thoughts are touching yet heartbreaking. She is brave when she gets mocked for having two fathers or no mother. Taking other people's feelings into account all the time, she puts her loved ones before her self. She also studies heartily, works hard and is always ready to help. All in all, Wendi is raised well by her Fathers, this adorable character is the magnet that will attract anyone to watch this drama.

Tang Xiang Xie (played by Yang Leroy) : After accepting Wendi into his life, Xiang Xie felt like his personality and luck had changed. From being a hard shelled loner he becomes a fun loving Daddy for her daughter. Having a hard past with his father, struggling with his mother and having no proper family, Xiang Xie was a stranger to such responsibilities or love. But as he brought up Wendi with his old friend Zhen Hua, he begins to understand that there is no love comparable to the one these two had for him. That allows him to forgive his unfit father and bond later on. The hilarious, emotional and childish character of Xiang Xie will make you love him and his flaws.

Wen Zhen Hua (played by Ling Yo Wie) : While being a quiet florist, there wasn't much to worry about in Zhen Hua's life. But when he got the call that a baby girl is born and she might be his daughter, his kind and caring character could not bare to run away from this confusing and surprising yet enormous news. After seeing the little baby girl, he fell in love with her (even if he wasn't sure if she was his daughter or not). Raising her up with his friend Xiang Xie, there were a lot of responsibilities Zhen Hua took on. Taking all the work of a house wife, bringing up Wendi and along with keeping his job as a florist, Zhen Hua became an occupied family guy. Wise, kind, caring and uptight are the only words I can use to describe the loveable character of Zhen Hua.

Fang Jing Zhu (Played by Megan Lai) :  Jing Zhu is Wendi's elementary school teacher, who looks serious in her work and teaches the kids well. In normal life, Jing Zhu is a fun loving Tomboy. Her outstanding personality attracts Wendi's two Daddies, until eventually at one point Zhen Hua gives up on her and feels like Xiang Xie should have her instead. After knowing about Wendi having no mother, she also takes it on herself to make the little girl feel secure in the school's environment where children are bound to speak unsuitable things (because they don't know any better). Terrible at driving, candy craving, loud, expressive and intelligent character of Jing Zhu makes her my favourite in the story! ( oh and Megan Lai is also very pretty!!!)

Along with all the other characters like Young Jie, Mie Nu, Fie Zhu, Qui Zhu, Lawyer Jian and Papa Mama Fang, the drama excels in making it's way into your heart.

Chitose Manga review

Chitose is a shoujo manga based on the school life of Chitose, a student from Okinawa. One day she meets Yukito ( from Tokyo) who is on a holiday in Okinawa. On their first meeting he saves her from a stalker and kisses her. Chitose plans to meet him the next day only to fall sick and miss the meeting.
Convinced she is in love, Chitose transfers to Tokyo (to Yukito's school) and stays with her brother (an author who also lives in Tokyo). But upon meeting Yuki in his school, she finds out he already has a girlfriend!
The story follows Chitose unfolding the unusual love story of Yuki and his pretty girlfriend, Saaya and meeting other new friends like Shun, Ichii and Fuji-san.

Ok, can I just say how awesome this story really is?! A real addicting, gripping and page folding case; this one.
The characters are loveable! The story is epic! The problems are heartbreaking and serious, this manga really knows how to make it's own place in your heart.

Character Reviews:
Chitose:
She is the main character in this story. I need only three words to describe her  " Cute, Innocent and Caring". Although she really likes Yuki, upon making friends with his girlfriend she tries really hard not to have any feelings towards him. She is not jealous or envious towards anyone and accepts the fact that her first kiss with Yuki was only a play for him. She cares for her older brother, neighbours, class mates and friends. Being innocent she gets really scared when it comes to new experiences and situations. All she wants is someone who is sincere with her and her loved ones to be happy. So I'll just say "Go Chii!!"

Yukito:
He is Chitose's crush and one of the main characters in the story. Although he is a playboy, everyone likes him a lot. There is a moving force in his personality that even makes it hard for his rivals to hate him. He is considerate towards others' feelings and often accepts and apologises for his careless mistakes. But when is comes to the girl he likes, Yuki gets envious, competitive and possessive.
All in all this is also one great person you would love to get to know as you read the story.

Sayaa:
She is Yuki's girlfriend. Being with him since their fifth grade, Sayaa and Yuki's relationship is shown relatively strong. She allows Yuki to flirt openly as she believes that they would always be together till the end. Her personality is strong and bearing, she can control her self and keep herself with in her better judgement. But sometimes I feel Sayaa can be a little cold or even selfish. Still that's a long way from being a bad person. She can still be added to the list of all the great characters the story has to offer.

Shun:
He is one of Yuki's high school friends. Shun has his own unique personality that really separates him from the rest of the characters. He is silent (a little arrogant but caring). There is also a secret reason to why Shun stays in the school festival club (no spoilers). He is also popular between students but doesn't like to hang in too many people. He also makes Chitose his first girlfriend after she gets rejected by Yuki.

Shun and Ninni (Chitose 's older brother)

Awesome art, Chitose ^

Sayaa and shun ^
   Sayaa and Fujika

Mairunovich Manga Review

M
Mairunovich Manga Review
mairunovich is a shoujo manga based on school life and romance. It's about a girl named Mairu who is basically ugly and outcasted. She is nick named "Poison Mushroom" after her appearance.
Mairu's life changed the day she is tricked by a boy in her school and made fun of. That day Mairu gets hurt for the first time and wishes she had some friends and that people wouldn't hate her this much. She is noticed by the school's most popular guy; Tenyu. He walks by her and randomly passes a comment saying that being ugly is a poor excuse for being so miserable. Something about his comment makes Mairu want to change herself and seeks help from her friend\neighbour. After applying make-up Mairu is transformed into a cute looking high school girl and captures the attention of her classmates very successfully. After this the manga continues with Mairu's desperate efforts on finding love. She dates different guys and learns from her mistakes, not giving up on finding her "one".
Character reviews :
Mairu: 17
She is an innocent outcast of her school who is despised by her school mates, her brother and herself. She is someone who is emotionally unstable (cries about everything ), bad at making or even keeping friends, thinks looks are everything (mind you, the whole point of this manga is looks are everything) She is of no use to anyone, except  the guys who date her. At the end she is a 'not so appealing make-up lover'

Kumada Tenyu (17 or possibly 18 since they don't mention it in the manga)
He is a popular and good looking guy of Mairu's high school. He takes pity on her decides to help her. Tenyu wants to be a makeup artist when he grows up. Other than helping Mairu look good he also mentors her. He gives her advice and protects her. He is always there for her when she needs a shoulder to cry on. Even though he is asked to leave twice by Mairu, she always ends up in a big trouble and calls him back (like she only uses him, da faq). All in all, Tenyu is a great character( although there are not many people like him in this world ). And I think in the end he is gonna be Mairu's 'the one'
(There are only two main characters so I'll be reviewing only them for now)

Although it's a very young manga with only 41 chapters until now (ongoing), in my opinion it's very stupid. To be honest I also got annoyed with Mairu's ameture and annoying character. I mean, how desperate can she get? She treats her only friend 'Tenyu' like a god and even asks him to leave her alone at one point when he is only trying to help her. Seeing this I realise why she doesn't have any friends. On the other hand the thing about 'becoming beautiful after applying make-up' is very ridiculous. Can an unattractive person with a lot of makeup on be asked to model for a magazine ? I don't think so -_-
One more thing about Mairu is that she despises herself. There's something about me that makes me wanna hate people who despise themselves for no reason. (Every critic is different so yea that's my opinion). Maybe that's the reason I find her character very unappealing.
Mairu's evolution ^
 Text from Mairu to Tenyu-kun
Mairu's first love Narutarou or Naru-kun
Mairu after applying make up ^

Even though I don't like the main character and the development of the story as it emerges from it's starting point or even the main theme of this manga, I'm still going to read on. Do you think it was too soon to write a review on this manga? Or maybe some one (I'm sure there are many people ) have a different opinion? Please do comment.
